  • This is a medium sized event where High schools from across Chesterfield County gather to compete in timed cross-country races. This is a medium sized event that will have a moderate impact on visitors trying to enter the park during the event. Vehicle traffic at the front entrance will be periodically stopped for runners to cross the road. The course utilizes the forest roads around the entrance of the park.

Outdoor Fest

  • Pocahontas State Park and Chesterfield County are partnering to present Outdoor Fest on Saturday September 26 from noon till 5pm. Enjoy activities, vendors, music, food and more. Parking fees are waived for National Public Lands Day. Also at 8am that morning is the first annual Beaver Tail Trail 4 mile race.     This will be a large day long event that will be focused around the day use area and the Visitor Center.

    The boat ramp will be closed for the day due to the event.
