"Wisdom from the Wild" is a monthly series that will lead you on wonder-filled journey to recovering your sense of belonging and finding your truest self, rooted in the rhythms and raptures of nature. Through a variety of mindful observations and reflections synchronized with the seasons, we will examine the ecology of natural ecosystems, explore our own ecological body, and practice integrating nature’s wisdom into our daily life. This program is for teens and adults.

December's Theme: Embracing Darkness
As we move closer to the winter solstice, the days are growing darker, and nature moves move deeply into a season of rest and restoration. In following her rhythm, we should settle into a more restful period and reflect on the ideas or behaviors we would like to incubate, cultivate, nurture, and grow to fruition over the next few months of winter as we welcome the light back. To celebrate the winter solstice, we will create greenery bundles from the plants that celebrate the season.

What to Expect:
This program involves standing and walking in a mostly open meadow with some forest on partially flat ground with a moderate incline. Bring sun protection, water, and wear closed-toe shoes. Activities include discussion, listening and watching the environment, and mindful observation.

About the facilitator:
Sarah Croscutt is a writer and owner/facilitator of From the Outside, a series of plant and nature-based activities designed to cultivate connection and well-being.
