Join us for a program that explores the often-overlooked psychological toll of the American Civil War. This program examines how soldiers experienced fear, stress, grief, and trauma in an era before modern understandings of mental health. Through historical accounts and battlefield context, visitors will learn how Civil War soldiers described and coped with these invisible wounds. In observance of Purple Heart Day, we will reflect on the human cost of war and honor the sacrifices of those who served.
