Did you know that Virginia is home to over 400 different species of native bees?
Bees are integral to our daily lives by pollinating our plants, but most people don't know much about our native species. From carpenter bees to sweat bees, our native species come in all shapes and sizes. Some live in social colonies, while others stay solitary. Some species rely solely on one species of plant, and in turn help that plant survive. Join a ranger as we discuss some of the incredible species of Virginia, what they do for us, and how we can help them.
This program will be held in the native plant garden next to the Visitor Center.
In case in inclement weather, please check this page prior to coming to the park. Cancellations will be posted by close of business the day before the program.
