Ranger-led Paddle from Austinville to Foster Falls

July 23, 2026. 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Join us on a ranger led paddle from Austinville to Foster Falls (4.5 miles) along the New River to learn more about the history of the area and about kayaking the river.
Participants will be paddling on moving water. Swimming ability is required.
All participants should bring snacks, plenty of water, sunscreen, and a change of clothing. Please wear comfortable (and moisture-wicking) clothes (no cotton) and closed-toe shoes that you don't mind getting wet/muddy. We will provide all kayaks, paddles, and PFDs.
Registration is required and space is limited to five participants, so please register early. The program fee is $30 per person, and the age requirement is 10 years old and up. Please call the office at (276) 699-6778 to sign up.
This program is subject to river conditions and dependent on the weather.
Meeting location: Boat and Bike Livery at Foster Falls prior to 9:30am.
