Welcome to the park! Begin your weekend with a campfire dedicated entirely to the seven Leave No Trace principles. Join a park ranger at the water’s edge as they guide you through each principle and teach fun, easy-to-remember movements to help them stick. Through interactive discussion and simple demonstrations, you’ll learn how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly and protect natural spaces. With s’mores, shared experiences, and a focus on stewardship, this campfire is the perfect way to settle in, meet fellow campers, and celebrate caring for the environment together.

Every September, during Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend, Virginia State Parks offers a variety of programs to connect Girl Scouts with nature while earning badges. From guided hikes and plant identification to campfire building and backpacking basics, this special weekend helps Girl Scouts learn outdoor skills, build confidence and become advocates for the environment.
