Celebrate America's 250th birthday on the shores of the Potomac! Enjoy a daytime paddle on scenic waters as we commune with our national symbol, the bald eagle. We'll look and listen for these magnificent raptors, and experience this special place where George Washington spent time in his youth.
Paddlers must be age 16+ for a solo kayak and age 8+ (with an adult) for tandem kayak. Wear clothes that can get wet and close-toed shoes. Meet at the visitor center to collect paddles and gear before riding down to the shore with the boats. Be prepared to help load and unload the kayaks at the beach before and after the paddle. Paid reservations are required as space is limited. Please call 540-663-3861 or stop by the visitor center to reserve your spot. Parking fee is $5.
