Join astronomers from the Echo Ridge Astronomical Society to observe and learn about the moon!

Roam around to take a look through their many kinds of telescopes and chat with them about the moon and other night sky phenomena. Corrie Delgado, ERAS's ambassador to NASA, will also share insights about the moon. You may also bring your own telescope or binoculars to get assistance from experienced astronomers. Feel free to bring comfortable chairs or blankets to lean back and enjoy watching the sky change from twilight to darkness.

To preserve the night vision of our visitors and wildlife, please use minimal lighting when entering and leaving the parking lot, and only use flashlights with red-colored light.

Meeting place: The grass lawn outside of Shelter #1 near the playground at Foster Falls, 116 Orphanage Dr. Max Meadows, VA 24362.

Admission to the program is free. VA State Park parking fees still apply.
This program is weather dependent. Please check this event listing on the New River Trail website for cancellations.
