Aug. 29, 2026. 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

Start your day with a ranger and your four-legged companion as Sweet Run State Park awakens for a new day. This leisurely morning hike explores how the park changes during the transition from night to day. Watch for signs of nocturnal animals returning to their cool dens and shelters after a night of activity, while songbirds and other daytime wildlife begin their morning routines. Along the way, participants will learn tips for safe and enjoyable trail experiences with dogs, including proper leash etiquette, reading canine body language, and strategies for navigating shared-use trails. Dogs must be leashed at all times, current on rabies and comfortable around people and other pets. The hike is approximately 1 mile and is on moderately steep and uneven terrain.
