Sharing Our Nature Stories

Location of Twin Lakes State Park in Virginia

Where

Program Location: Picnic Shelter One
Main Park Address: Twin Lakes State Park, 788 Twin Lakes Rd., Green Bay, VA 23942.

When

Oct. 17, 2026. 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

You are invited to join us around the campfire in listening to and/or sharing stories about personally meaningful nature encounters or relationships. We can share about long-running relationships with wildlife, finding nature friends, life-changing encounters, inspiring aspects of nature, and otherwise. After doing several brief exercises to allow the stories to emerge, participants will have opportunities to share stories and listen to the stories of others.

Folks are welcome to join any portion of the event and are free to come and go as they please. Children who are under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Dressing for the weather and bringing water to drink are recommended. The facilitator will be present regardless of the weather. If it is raining strongly at the start-time of the event, the program will be held on October 24 instead.

The campfire circle is located near Picnic Shelter #1. Parking is available near the picnic shelter for the standard rate of $7 per vehicle.
