Students K-12 in public, private, or homeschool are encouraged to participate in our Junior Duck Stamp Education series, where they will learn about native waterfowl, wetlands, and conservation, as well as the history of waterfowl hunting on the Widewater peninsula.

The Federal Junior Duck Stamp Conservation and Design Program is a national program offered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to combine art with conservation. Students who join this program will learn about wetland and waterfowl conservation and can submit artwork for a national contest if they wish.

Offered every third Saturday from Sept. 2026 - Feb. 2027, each week will focus on a different unit as outlined by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Every lesson is designed to build off the information taught in the previous one, so students are encouraged to attend as many as possible. This program is focused on art, education, and conservation surrounding our native waterfowl. Art pieces for the contest may be discussed but must be worked on in your own time.
