Hike Like a BARK Ranger

So you wanna be a BARK Ranger? Then come on down to Widewater State Park and join one of our rangers as we teach you and your pup the four pillars of being a responsible BARK ranger:

1. Bag your pet's waste.

2. Always leash your pet.

3. Respect wildlife and other visitors.

4. Know where you can go.

After learning about these BARK Ranger principles, you and your pup will put your knowledge to the test by going on a hike with our rangers before receiving your BARK Rangers certificate.

Participants will meet outside of the Visitor Center before heading over the Shelter 1 to begin the program. Make sure to dress for the weather, bring water to stay hydrated, and check outdoor conditions prior to attending as there may be ice on the ground. In the event of inclement weather, this program will be cancelled by close of business the day prior to the program and posted on this page.
