Where

Program Location: Interpretive Center
Main Park Address: Sweet Run State Park, 11661 Harpers Ferry Road, Hillsboro, VA 20132.

When

Nov. 27, 2026. 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

Grab the leash and join us for a late-season B.A.R.K. Ranger adventure! After a brief introduction at the Interpretive Center, we’ll head out along Meadow View Trail, the Farmstead Loop, and Jonathan’s Trail to discover how both the homestead community and the animals of the forest made their final preparations before winter arrived.

Along the way, we’ll look for signs of wildlife preparing for colder weather and explore how people once gathered food, stored supplies, prepared their homes, and used the resources around them to make it through the winter months.

Dogs must have a current rabies vaccination, be kept on a 6-foot leash, and remain under their owner’s control at all times. Please dress for the weather, wear sturdy walking shoes, and bring water for both you and your four-legged hiking companion.
