WOODSTOCK, Va. – Seven Bends State Park is excited to announce the launch of a new kayak rental program, giving visitors without access to a boat a new way to explore the Shenandoah River.

A kayak rental costs $25 and includes a single 9-foot kayak, paddle, an adult and youth life jacket and a whistle. Rentals are available daily starting at 6 a.m. at the Hollingsworth Access, weather and river conditions permitting. Boats must be returned to the Lupton Access before 8 p.m. on the same day. Shuttle service is not provided.

“This is an exciting addition to the outdoor experiences we offer,” said Park Manager Tom Stevens. “The Seven Bends area of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River is a peaceful and picturesque setting, perfect for paddlers of all skill levels. With rentals available on-site, it’s easier than ever for our visitors to get out on the water.”

Reservations can be made up to one week in advance or on a first-come, first-served basis at https://reservevaparks.com.

For more information about kayak rentals and park activities, visitors should go to www.virginiastateparks.gov/seven-bends or call 540-630-4718.
