Smith Mountain Lake State Park hosts third installment of Winter Lecture Series

HUDDLESTON, Va. – The Winter Lecture Series will return to Smith Mountain Lake State Park on Sunday, March 8, from 3 to 4 p.m. This is the third installment of the four-part series and will feature Virginia Master Naturalist Nora Cox.
Her presentation will explain the differences between native, introduced and invasive plant species in Virginia. She will also discuss herbicide use and other methods for removing invasive plants and will share resources for choosing native species to replace them.
The Winter Lecture Series is held in the park’s Discovery Center and will also feature a program on April 12. These lecture offers attendees the chance to learn from experts on topics related to nature, conservation and local history.

- Friends of SMLSP members: $8
