Smith Mountain Lake State Park hosts final installment of Winter Lecture Series

HUDDLESTON, Va. – The Winter Lecture Series will return to Smith Mountain Lake State Park on Sunday, April 12, from 3 to 4 p.m. This is the final installment of the four-part series and will feature Smith Mountain Lake State Park Interpretive Ranger Mel Perry.
Perry’s presentation will highlight how Virginia State Parks keep nature in balance, from the role of “good fire” in restoring forests to wildlife and habitat protection. Attendees will also explore key natural resource management practices, including prescribed burns and managed deer hunts.
The Winter Lecture Series is held in the park’s Discovery Center.

- Friends of SMLSP members: $8
